Wesley Glen Day – June 17

Every local church in South Georgia is encouraged to receive a special offering on Sunday, June 17 to support the ministry of Wesley Glen.  Established in 1984, Wesley Glen Ministries serves adults with mental disabilities by providing a home environment and continuum of programs to allow each individual to develop skills and greater confidence, living happy, full lives as contributing members of their Wesley Glen family and the surrounding community. M.L. Harris UMC Outdoor Worship & Picnic – June 24

School of Christian Mission – July 12-15

The United Methodist Women will host the 2012 Cooperative School of Christian Mission Thursday – Sunday, July 12 -15. All adults attending will take the Spiritual Growth Study, “Immigration in The Bible” with Evelyn Fulmore. Adults also select one other class: “Haiti” (the geographic study) with Dr. Charlene Black and Jamie Gibson, or “Poverty” (the social issues study) with Rev. Kim Jenkins, Rev. Doreen Smalls and Rev. Michael Culbreth. In addition, UMVIM Disaster Relief Training and Lay Speaking classes will be offered. Tara Jones will lead a Basic Spanish Class again this year.

Georgia Pastors’ School – July 23-26

Georgia Pastors' School provides inspiration, education, fellowship, fun and relaxation for North and South Georgia clergy and their families. Active and retired United Methodist clergy and their families are invited to experience this combination of continuing education and personal renewal. Held July 23-26 at Epworth By The Sea on St. Simons Island, the school follows a class schedule that provides an opportunity for fellowship and recreation. The school is structured so that clergy may receive up to two CEUs. Dive into “The Deep,” the 2012 Summer Camps sponsored by Connectional Ministries at Epworth By The Sea!  Mid High Camps, intended for rising 6th-9th graders, are filled with a week’s worth of fun activities and opportunities to grow closer to Christ though daily worship, Bible study, and fellowship.  Campers will enjoy the beach, pool, crafts, games galore, hilarious morning shows, and evenings of worship.
